Sectlinefor - Kissing Strangers During an Outbreak

Band Album, Alternative Electronic Metal, 2021

Written during the lockdown which trapped me in New York and trapped Piton in London. Thank goodness for the internet, eh! When the law finally granted permission, Sectlinefor shook hands for the first time in years then vomited out this record within days. It was first either of us had heard these songs, caught on tape, the exact verses that you hear on the album now. It's our third release. We called it Kissing Strangers During an Outbreak. I assure you that the title is based on a true story.
I like to believe that the discomfort of our COVID climate weaves between the lines, tightening the project as the closest we've come to find our sound. Piton's progressive sonic-monsters and my obsessions with comical aesthetics have never fornicated so loudly; the darkness and the colours represented in equal measures, refusing to get too comfortable in depression or comedy, forever lost somewhere in the middle. It's always a troubling exercise to pick a favourite child, but there is something curiously special about this one. Maybe you'll hear that too.
