The debut Coming Down Happy EP was the artistic equivalent of throwing every chip I had on the table. I wanted to make something commercial enough to appeal to the average listener but I also wanted to massively offend everybody to get their attention. Meanwhile, the then-website was flooded with an excess amount of information while every song from this release (and the subsequent Black EP) came with its own comic-style music video which you can watch by clicking the link above. Did I mention I was also seeking creative revenge on an ex-lover? Yup, oops.
I struggle to listen to it now but that's for personal reasons, there isn't an unworthy song on the thing. Most of my friends associate this EP with my music endeavours anyway. And even if it never hit the intended mark, it was an exciting starting point for this chapter in my musical canon, so whatever.
